2013-2014 President

Karon Cook

Department President Karon Cook

Department President Karon Cook is a 31-year member of Topeka North Unit #400 of Topeka, Kansas.  Her eligibility is gained through the military service of her father Norman Goodman.  Karon has been the golf coordinator and Chairman for the successful ALA Department of Kansas Golf Classic since 2011.  Karon was President of her unit for different years and has served in all the offices of her unit and district.  She has chaired many of the ALA programs.  As First District President in 2006-2007, her President's Project was the American Legion Riders Golf Fundraiser, which raised over $10,000.  The proceeds from this tournament served to provide a trailer to carry the riders flags and items needed to support the American Legion Family activities.  Her project also provided two 50" televisions and stands given to the Colmery O'Neil V.A. Hospital in Topeka and the Dwight D. Eisenhower V.A. Hospital in Leavenworth.

Our National President Nancy Brown-Park's theme is “Pass It On" and in support of this theme, the Sunflower State will use as its call to arms: "Pass It On - Working With Our Legion Family."
