2011-2012 President
Ida Meyeres

Department
President Ida Meyeres; says it is a pleasure to
serve in this position for the State of Kansas
for the year 2011-2012; while we “Honor Their
Service”. After moving to Bazine, she became a
member of Frank Stull American Legion Auxiliary
Unit #152 in Ness City and has remained very
active for 13 years. She comments that she got
involved in the American Legion Auxiliary
because of the programs they have available for
our youth. She received her eligibility from her
husband John who served in the United States
Army from 1968 to 1970. John, who is currently
serving as Vice Commander Area West for The
American Legion, shares Ida's enthusiasm for The
American Legion Family.
John & Ida
share several children from their combined
marriage with three of them in the Military at
this time and one being deployed. Some of the
sons who were not in the service now belong to
the Sons of The American Legion Olin Cole Post
#392 Bazine.
Our family
all expressed that upon becoming involved; they
"felt like their family grew in numbers."
We love working
with everyone at all levels of the Legion.
Our
National President Kris Nelson’s theme is
“Honoring their Service”; and I have added to it
for mine:
"Honor Their Service"
Our Veterans
are our past freedom and our
Children are
our future
